David Wolffe, finance director at HMV has resigned after 18 months in post, just days after the company’s chief executive Simon Fox left the troubled high street music retailer.
Wolffe joined HMV from ITV Studios in early 2011. The firm is close to naming Carphone Warehouse executive Ian Kenyon as its new finance director, according to the Financial Times.
HMV’s former finance director oversaw a £220m refinancing operation for the group in June, undertaken as part of its attempts to prevent financial collapse.
HMV is expected to report pre-tax losses of about £16m in its forthcoming full-year results, according to analysts, as it faces increasing competition from online only music sites.
