National Assembly consultation: Wales’ Future relationship with the European Union
Released 09 January 2018
The External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee is seeking input on Wales's future relationship with the European Union.
In light of the adoption by the European Council of draft guidelines to move to the second phase of Brexit negotiations, the Committee has launched an inquiry into Wales’s future relationship with the European Union. This is to enable effective scrutiny of the Welsh Government’s input into the negotiations and to ensure that the issues of most importance to Wales are being adequately represented in the negotiations. The External Affairs Committee is inviting written submissions on:
•the Welsh Government’s position;
•the Committee’s initial view, as expressed in its report Implications for Wales of exiting the European Union;
•the UK Government’s position; and
•the European Union’s position.
The deadline for submitting written evidence is Friday 9 February 2018.
