HMRC CEO to speak at Accountex 2017

There will be a chance to hear HMRC’s chief executive, Jon Thompson, on the key issues facing his department and the accountancy profession at the annual Accountex exhibition and conference in May

Thompson will headline as a keynote speaker at this year’s event. As chief executive, he is responsible for delivering the department’s strategy, including HMRC’s ambitious transformation programme, business objectives, and customer service improvements, as well as implementing the important Making Tax Digital initiative.

In addition, HMRC will launch a dedicated HMRC theatre for the first time at the show. Sessions topics are expected to include Making Tax Digital for business and for individuals, agent services, counter avoidance, cybersecurity, and customer design. The final programme will be announced by HMRC at the end of March.

This year’s Accountex takes place at London’s ExCeL centre on 10-11 May. Attendance is free to practicing accountants from across the accountancy spectrum, as well as verified finance directors, IT directors and bookkeepers.

Places at all keynotes and seminars are allocated on a first come first served basis. Organisers are recommending turning up early for popular sessions. More details are available at There is a priority code ACX103 (direct link).
